NEW CHAMBER BADGE OF OFFICE

Chew Valley Chamber of Commerce marked its tenth anniversary with the delivery of a specially produced Presidential insignia.

The solid silver medallion is a contemporary design based on the Chamber logo.

President Jim King said he was delighted with the new badge of office: “We always encourage businesses to look first for local suppliers and we have practised what we preach, by going to Douglas Grant to create the insignia. He has recently taken part in the Chew Valley Arts Trail, which promotes the work of so many talented artists from this area. He based it on the Chamber logo which was designed in the first place by Andrew Bell, when he was a pupil at Chew Valley School.”

The commission was a first for Douglas who usually produces pieces of jewellery with a Celtic theme.

“It was interesting to work on something that is a bit different. The insignia is made in solid silver and I tried to give the design a modern feel whilst at the same time producing something which properly reflects the dignity of the Presidential office,” he said.
